they cut and saw,
hack
away
at the three hundred year
old Linden Tree,
tears fall.
children
have climbed it,
weddings
have been held below
it.
generations have
come and gone
as it continued to rise
and bloom
in each
new season.
and now
it comes down.
limb by limb,
as we all will, but
in lesser
time.
so long.
