you get behind the wheel
of a car,
you say to yourself,
this is easy,
i got this,
what's the big deal.
gas, break, signals,
stop and go,
but soon you learn
that it's not you
that you
have to worry about,
it's everyone else
that's on the road.
the drinkers, the texters,
the distracted,
all those fiddling with
the knobs and gizmos,
the young and old.
