he's not the same man i married

his troubles
became hers after a spell
of some brief
placid bliss.
what she never knew
about
him.
she knew now.
how he slept,
taking the blankets,
how he
ate
and dribbled food,
the noises
he would make.
doors
left open, the yard uncut.
he seemed
so different
when they met.
careful with money, polite
and well
kept.
and now this. this.
unshaven.
always with the seat up.
