at our own pace

do not feel sorry for
the snail
the lowly
thing crawling
dragging itself from here
to there
tucked partly
into it's shell.
it's contentment
is unseen.
nor should you feel
sorry
for yourself.
we all move at our own
speed,
heal
on our own time table
and accomplish
things
when the time is right.
sometimes
we need to be low,
and moving
at our own pace,
lost in the shadows,
but going ever forward,
whether
fast,
whether slow.
