in an aquarium, swimming
from glass wall
to glass wall,
thinking that this is all
there is.
the sprinkle of food
from a hand above.
do they wonder, is that God?
the electric light giving
sunshine on
the filtered water,
the greenery
at the bottom,
in pristine white
stones, pretending sand.
are we no different
then the striped
fish,
the bright blue ones,
thick as thumbs,
or a yellowed tiger
that swims oblivious
as to how
trapped he is,
without a clue.
