cat lady

lonely for love,
she started with one cat,
but one soon became two, it seemed
only kind
and natural to give
the one a friend to spend
the day with,
the night time too.
soon, though, three cats
were there,
then four, and when the fourth
had kittens,
well there was little
to be done,
but tell no one, and shut
the door.
