cold enough for stew

I've made it so many times.
beef stew.

but I look up a recipe just to see
what else I can do,
to add to the mix.
spice it up perhaps.

potatoes, of course go in.
carrots,
onions.

garlic.
pepper and salt, hello.

beef broth
and red wine, pinot noir,
of course.

then there's the meat,
kosher
cubes of kobe beef.

lots of dicing on the big
wooden board.

sipping wine as we go.

braise and boil, soak
and slow
cook on the low burner.

a few hours, don't forget
the loaf
of bread, French
with a crust.
