I fall asleep with a book
in my hands.
the tv on,
all the lights in the house
lit up,
the door unlocked.
it's a sweet sleep, deep
and luxurious on these
new Egyptian one hundred
per cent cotton sheets.
blue like the Carolina
sky.
it's a good nine hours.
not a toss or turn the entire
night.
the new bed is deep
and holds me like a glove.
