the brim of his hat,
as he
kneels
in the dirt, hands moving,
a maestro
with
plants
and seeds,
cutting, chopping,
using string
as need be.
burying.
it's another spring, another
year
of hope
that all things will
come
up
the way they're supposed
to.
he's lost in it,
he doesn't see me.
