avoiding the black cat

i'm

not superstitious by nature,

but i do

avoid

the black cat,

or

the ladder, walking around it,

i'm careful

around mirrors too, not

to mention

stepping over

a crack.

i love my mother

and would

never do her harm,

i'd never throw a hat onto

a bed either,

but

yes, occasionally i'll

knock on

wood,

or rub a rabbit's tail,

toss a coin

into a wishing well,

or cast a wish

upon a star,

but i wouldn't say i'm

superstitious.

not at all.
