in our cabin
for three days and three nights
of our seven
day cruise
down the Aegean Sea.
i should never have gone
down to the ships
doctor
and asked for a bottle of
Pepto Bismol
after eating
three whole lobsters
and drinking
four margaritas when
boarding the ship.
a big mistake.
they put a guard at our door
where they left our
food on a tray.
we discovered quickly our vast
differences
about everything
under the sun, but
we were stuck together
until our blood samples
said all clear.
it was a learning experience,
though it was the last
trip we ever took together.
