the door wide open
all night.
not because i wanted people
to come
in,
but because i just forgot
to close
it after i turned
out all
the lights.
a Freudian slip,
perhaps,
but no one
arrived. not a stranger
or ex-wife.
i guess i was
just lucky this time.
