a generous tip for the waitress,
and despite
my wife's objections,
i insist that it's
not because the girl
is so beautiful
with long
legs and doe
like eyes, or her bright smile.
it's not because her skin
glistens,
or that she smells
like a bouquet of flowers
when she bends
to fill my
cup, one more time.
it's the service, i tell her,
she's so attentive
and efficient,
that's why.
