the christmas tree
this year, as
i did
the pumpkin,
the valentine heart,
the easter
basket
and the fireworks
on the fourth
with a hot dog and beer.
i'll forgo
labor day too,
and memorial day with
the flag
raised above the roof.
i'm all about
arbor day
this year.
i'll go out and find
a tree to hug
then rest upon its roots.
