love like that

the girl
next door would look
out her window.
I'd wave to her.
but she was shy
and would
hide.
in time though
she gave in,
she held my hand when
no one was
looking.
she'd sneak a kiss
behind
the shed, under
the canopy of trees,
and shade.
I can still smell
her skin.
taste her tender lips.
see deep into her
dark brown eyes.
I've never been in love
quite like that,
and never will be again.
