the hour glass is low
sure,
mistakes were made.
things
were said that can't be taken
back.
money
and time were wasted.
years of our
lives gone down
the drain.
neither of us
were who the other person
thought we
were.
oh well,
next.
but i'm running out
of time.

Ernie's Deviled Eggs
making new friends
can you hear me now?
each day a gamble
forcing me into a barbeque
the eyebrow convention
done with California
pay it no mind
Nehi orange or grape soda
Dasha in the trenches
the Easter egg roll
street cleaning on Tuesday
a greeting at the door
the sooner the better
pointless and useless knowledge
the other shoe
so damn quickly
unlike Dylan i hesitate to go Electric
white paint all the way down
Easter Eggs off to church
emotional eating
fish eyes
there is no such thing as free speech
will a good sleep help?
it's your turn
when the stars go out
what they forget
what you already know
the reluctant horse
the vegetarian birthday party
stray cats with one life left
finding Jane
isn't that interesting?
wearing orange again
ignoring the red flags
passing on your left
get under your desks
why should they have all the fun
the woods behind the shopping center
wanting that distant land
group therapy with Dolly
feeling lost and alone on a cold night
making my move
birds in sweaters
buy now, jump later
going nowhere fast
why lies below
finding joy
nothing has changed
old friends at the park
step across the border
shutterbugs
apologizing at 90
temptation
a fresh start for a kitchen drawer
not a waste of time
the love locks on the chain links
over loved
a stretch of yawn
bargain prices
tomorrow i'll begin
not about you, is it?
it's time to go
taste like chicken
spin the bottle
slamming the door
as if they knew
the weary road home
her P.O. box
dastardly old age
keeping us down
being followed
reduction therapy
infected early
falling off a Ferris wheel
the wiggle of the line
we've all been there
appliance paranoia
the traveling salesman
truthful ponderings
hang on and enjoy
the nincompoop
eating bread all day
the thinning grapevine
Karen and her dead dogs
the field trip to Gettysburg
i'm trying to sleep
the least of things
it's okay to steal, we were never hugged
last day on the job
knowing your limitations
friends on the street
what's waiting down there?
it's just a matter of time
making babies
future diabetics
suspicious minds
this will be trouble
the tv dinner
not unlike us
