the least of things

the cat

or dog easily adjusts

its mark in the corner.

but the basics

are met.

a window

in the sun, food

and water

in bowls in

the kitchen.

a bed to sleep on

at night.

a ball to chase, or

mouse on a string

to paw at.

the owners

are helpful

with their good cheer,

but they

are the least

of things.
