i want a sandwich to go

i don't want

to put things together.

i don't want to read the directions

and lay out

the nuts and bolts,

the various parts

and methodically twist

a screw

driver

and tap a hammer

until it's all done.

i want

to load the finished product

into the car

and take it

home.

i don't want to work for it.

same goes

for food.

i don't want to milk the cow,

kill and defeather

a chicken,

or break apart crabs with

a mallet

and pliers.

i want a sandwich on a plate,

ready to eat.

ready to go.
