out candy
for Halloween.
no cookies either,
or candy apples.
instead i give out advice.
it hasn't gone well.
i tell them to read books,
exercise,
don't eat sugar,
be honest and nice
to people.
save your money.
it takes me all day
the next day
to scrub the eggs off
my porch.
and to unstring
the toilet paper hanging
from my tree.
