bad news keeps
hard
to swallow bad news
when
it arrives, so i set
it aside
on the counter,
beside
the sink.
the glass of water,
cold
and clear.
i'll wait awhile before
taking
it in,
and making calls
to those
of kin.

a note on my pillow
in the garden of eden
the financial advisor
wet cement
when you're down that low
is this a long story?
betty and veronica
have you found everything you were looking for
monkey business
nothing's wrong, nothing
what we remember
i won't be there
a handful of feathers
hoping for the moon
no need to say anything
the factory worker
no easy way to get there
rainy days at the 5 and 10
the round wooden table
you should go sometime
he was frugal, you might say
out of the tub
chicken wire
the ant farm
busy dying
when the in laws would come for dinner
knowing God's will
where's my money?
you close your eyes to rest
give me a moment
graduation day
what time is it
book world
he was a good shark
more stupid ideas
the suggestion box
it's going downhill
the part time job
the next time out
in long hot afternoon
on holy ground
time for another great flood
paper gold stars
unconditional love
where we land
no longer compromising
ten minutes at most
leaving the emerald city
beware of whistlers
the hundred year road repair
let's take another look
why are they singing?
they've got it better than us
biblical heat
French Bikini
we need to have more fun
can i get an amen?
too good to be true
i love the way they cook chicken here
my financial advisor Rosa Lee
the world in black and white
the long walk at night
down to nine percent
the quick fire
hand in the fire
it wasn't always that way
porcelain and plastic
enjoying nature from a distance
the vacancy sign
call this guy
dried flowers
summer plums
the click of heels coming up the stairs
room with a new view
how she breathes
while reading charles simic
there'll be days like this
love and horseshoes
good bones
what goes on here?
the summer of 63
home for sale
my fishmonger Bluto
try it, Alexa says
i gave her four stars
as close as i can get
the custard stand
we praise the cool air
the fear between us
wet ink
are you almost done?
you get nothing
missing old friends
the sediment
his dish was deviled eggs
poetry foreplay
wanting the same thing
the fuller brush man
walking on eggshells
teenage shopping spree
