that i am
i have the cuts and scars
to prove it.
i have to put my hand
in the fire
a dozen times
before i understand
not to do it.
then suddenly a light goes
on. and at last
i say to myself,
oh, i see now.
that's what caused
the pain,
let me write that down,
make a note
of it.
