cleaning house

you sweep and sweep
all day,
all morning to get the dirt
out,
the dust.
the cobwebs.
you mop the floors,
scrub
the bathrooms, the kitchen
too.
you clean the closets of
what
and who
you no longer need
or want in
your life, or they needing
you.
you set everything out
on the curb
for pick up in the morning.
not a tear
is shed.
it's been a long time
coming and a welcome
relief.
