or drink
bottled water.
you don't have
a compost pile, or
give your old
clothes to the church.
you don't send
out Christmas
cards, or birthday
cards, or get well
soon cards.
sometimes you go
weeks without visiting
your mother, or
calling your father,
or your son.
when the clerk asks
you if you want to donate
a dollar to the st.
judes fund, you
say no. hell no.
you're a bad man.
bad to the bone.
and you feel bad about
it, for a few minutes.
