have too much muscle?
so many,
so large and tight
that the veins pop
on your skin.
people
stare at you,
make way
for you when you're
coming through
the door.
the hours
of pumping iron
in the mirror.
the weights,
the stretches,
the accolades and cheers,
but it doesn't matter,
because
the rest of life,
love
and death is still
hard
despite the roars.
