and desires
vary
from time to time.
they're different than
when you were young,
rosy cheeked
and dumb,
but the bloom is off
the rose
at this stage,
there is nothing you
truly need.
no longer do you pray
for snow
to get out of school
the next day,
or for summer to last
forever
instead you pray
for the health and well
being,
of not just you,
but for all others.
