what do we trust,
who?
in God.
in each other.
with secrets we're meant
to keep.
we trust
the plane we're on
to land safely.
we trust
the food we eat
will not poison us.
we trust the ice not
to break
as we step across the pond.
we trust the cop,
the leaders,
the priest.
we're so easy to trust.
taking
vows,
making promises,
that few
can keep.
