it was strange seeing
a teacher
outside
of school.
seeing her at the grocery store.
it startled you.
she'd smile
and say hello,
you'd nod, stunned
silent.
it didn't seem possible.
she's human too.
she's buying
bread and milk.
butter
and eggs,
just like you.
