no big deal

as we sat 

in the waiting room 

like cats

in a room full of  rocking

chairs,

we looked

at our phones,

our hands,

at each other, awaiting

the dreaded needle.

and then it was over.

and we all smiled

at one another

and said,

that wasn't so bad.
