that kills
the owner
of said monkey,
i shake my head
and wonder why
after years of treating it
like a human child
it suddenly turns on them,
chewing off fingers
and gouging out eyes.
biting ears in two
like dried fruit.
i come to the conclusion
that i don't ever want to have
monkey as a pet.
i'm fine with going to the zoo.
maybe i'll have a cat
or a bird instead.
