ready in case you're
in trouble,
attacked.
who's
beside you in a line
of fire,
when life hits the fan.
who's got the hand
to reach
down and pull you
from the ocean
before you
drown.
the list is few.
and it surprised me,
stunned me in fact,
when i found out
none of them were you.
