you should write a book

everyone thinks
they have a book in them.
you do too.
but few write them.
it's too hard
sitting there all
day and night
typing.
but they have
stories to tell.
tales that they
tell their friends.
about love
and dating, life
and death. most of
them begin by saying,
you're not going to
believe this,
or guess what happened
to me last night.
you can hear the excitement
in their voice
as they tell in
detail what happened.
sometimes they are good
stories,
polished from being
told so many times,
and other times
you yawn and roll
your eyes before
you accidentally lose
connection on
your cell phone
clicking it off,
before stuffing it
into your pocket.
