not your day

not everyday is a home
run.
not even a single,
or double,
sometimes
you never get to any
base,
you swing and miss, foul
off ball after ball,
then strike out.
sometimes the ball
hits you
between the numbers
and even then
they send in a pinch
runner. it's just not
your day.
