to trust someone who smiles
too often
and for too long.
calm
and happy.
what are they up to?
what do they want?
always pleasant,
eager to lend
a hand.
polite and well mannered.
they seem to listen
when you speak,
always
with a compliment,
a pat on the back,
firmly shaking your
hand.
when talking
they look into your eyes.
you know they're up to
no good,
but you haven't quite
put your finger
on it.
give them time.
it won't be long before
their true selves
arrive.
