a modern day Neville
Chamberlain.
his giggling sidekick
the vp,
sitting behind him, laughing
about something
only she seems to get.
both sides of the aisle
have lost their marbles.
we're stuck in a bad time
to be alive
without leadership or hope.
as an entire country is
slaughtered and we do
little but shrug
and look the other way.
not a Churchill around,
no Roosevelt,
or Truman. not even a Kennedy
to rise and sound
the alarm.
