the previous years

i get the feeling

that each

year i will look back on

the previous

year and think, what a

fool i was back then.

the things i said,

and did. what was i

thinking?

at ninety-three i'll

look back at ninety-two

and shake my head

at my behavior.

and tell others, 

i'm sorry i was such

a dope,

that really wasn't me.
