billion dollar
telescope into space
to see what's out
there. what other
life might
exist in the vast expanse
of the universe, but
the years go by and
still nothing.
not a peep
from anyone out there.
no music,
no words,
no morse code with light,
or sound,
nothing, but the hum
of empty air.
and if they do signal
back it would be to
say, leave us alone.
do you really
think they want to come
here?
