let it go

the police call
with inquiries as to why I
would
say such things.
write such things.
threaten and be mean and
nasty
towards a despicable
person
who has ruined the lives
of many.
I ask them to stop by
for a cup of tea,
so they come
and I tell them my story.
by the end of the afternoon
they are in tears,
they put their arms around
me, and say, it's okay.
it's okay.
you've done what any
man in love would do.
no one blames you for the rage
and fury
that dwells within your
soul.
now go and find peace,
erase, extinguish those
memories and thoughts
from you mind,
move forward,
find joy, delete.
let it go, brother.
