never sit
in the front row
of a comedy club.
it seems
like a good idea
at the time, being
close, in order
to hear and see
the action, but
soon, that shirt
you're wearing,
the woman you are
with, your shoes,
and hair,
the essence of
who you are,
your dna will
all be grist for
the mill. it won't
be funny.
