i tell people that

i'm heading south for the winter.

they say where, Florida,

Miami?

St. Pete's perhaps?

no, i tell them.

i'm sleeping in the room

in back

of the house.

it has great sunlight,

southern exposure.

i'll even crack a window,

if it gets too hot.
