a strange room
next to a stranger.
the birds
sound different out the window.
the floors creak
and the pipes groan
in an unknown way.
this isn't my pillow
that my head rests upon.
where is the bathroom,
where's the floor,
where am i, who is that next
to me
with that gentle snore.
