not everyone has the gift

of gab,

a story teller.

they may have a wonderful

tale or joke to tell

but don't know

exactly how to get there.

they have no idea

what to leave in,

what to take out.

they drone on, as your eyes

flutter with fatigue.

a pasted half weary smile

on your lips.

you wait.

your ears wait.

life is on hold until they get

to the end.

then you quickly think of

a reason to go

before the next one

gets told.
