moving slowly across
the keyboard
and the other hand waiting
its turn
i attempt
to overcome the pain
of a cut tendon
and write something new
and fresh
and enlightening, but no
such luck
even the bright firework
splash of blood
and glass
has provided me with no
new insights
or epiphanies.

I have been scrolling for a time now and I must say I am impressed with what appears to be your command, you taking control over the apostrophe. I think you have it, but, I will remember --as you pointed out above --things can change in an instant. However, I remain cautiously optimistic that the lesson has been learned (even if the teacher forgets your name as you ask her to sign your yearbook on the last day of school). One day --about midway through the semester, the PA comes on and the office says: "Can you send Brendan Smith (or whatever his name was) to the office?" I say --out loud in front of the class: "Brendan Smith? There is no Brendan Smith in this class." A voice right in front of me "I am right here." True story. Oops.
