I take another white
sheet
from deep within
the linen closet. i
stretch it out on the floor
and cut
it with the good scissors.
I make another dozen
flags of surrender,
attaching each to a sturdy
wooden pole.
I go out into the rain
and march silently.
there is nothing left to
do, but do nothing.
I can do that.
