he left it there
on the side of the road
somewhere near Atlanta,
he grabbed
his duffle bag
full of clothes
from
the trunk,
put his thumb
out. he kept going.
we got a post card
from him
in Miami, saying
little but, i'm in Miami
now.
it's hot here.
