some have lost love
in their eyes, others regret
of a road
not taken,
or one stayed on too long.
each a story
in a face,
a body, soul.
the reunion goes on into
the night,
the light
banter, the music
too soft to be heard.
the hugs and shared memories,
the graceful aging
of some,
the hard road years
of others, but
coming out whole
on the other side.
a mix of children
joined in classrooms,
eyes to books
and each other,
now men and women,
together, perhaps
one last time
for laughs, for tears.
