the moral dilemma

the moral decision
of whether or not to push
the cart
back to the store
after loading your groceries
into the car
is trying
your soul. it's a long
walk in the heat.
you could leave it next to the light
pole,
out of the way.
or let it wobble in the spot
you drive away from.
or you could push it back
to the curb
and slide it into place
with the other carts
against the store wall.
some days you are too tired,
or lazy to be good.,
maybe no one will notice.
