my editor, diane in ohio, says
you need to drop the last line.
and she's right,
she's nearly always right.
the last line
is a wrap up, a nice and tidy
string of words
summing up
the content of the poem
or story.
unnecessary, unneeded.
I see and feel it
as I write
the last line, but can't
stop myself.
it's like when we have an
argument.
the last things we say to
one another shouldn't
be said, but
we do. always, nearly
always getting the last word
in and regretting it.

--so yes --essentially --drop the last line but insert "in" after 'getting' in line above.
This Diane in Ohio must be really smart! I would keep her around if I were you. :)
