the last time
you ate a raw oyster,
just one slippery
inch long oyster
with lemon,
letting it slide
so easily down
your throat
you were in the intensive
care section
of your tiled
black and white
bathroom floor.
you made yourself
comfy, with towels
and water,
keeping the light off
while you whimpered
at the cold seat,
hugging it weakly,
making vows to God to never
eat anything like
that again.
