you twist an ankle
on the curb.
the rest of
the day you favor
it and lean left.
you begin to walk
in a circle,
never reaching
where you need to be,
until you twist
the other one,
and the ship
is righted,
you get there,
but slowly now
with more than enough
learned humility.
