you see pieces of her
floating in the air
like ash
across the brown meadow.
that dress she wore,
a smile,
a shoe,
a golden clasp.
the brush she held
in her hand,
counting.
the wind disperses
her.
tears gently at the memory
of who
you thought she
was, not the truth.
